U.S. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS

Washington, DC- Digital Citizens Alliance Executive Director Tom Galvin made the following remarks on the protection of U.S. intellectual property.

"Ambassadors Blair and Huntsman have done a great service by speaking out on Intellectual Property.  I have actually seen a marketplace in China, the size of a Macy's or any large department store, filled with knockoffs of American goods.  The products look real enough, but are not made to the standards we expect of our name-brand consumer goods.  These criminal rings make millions on duplicating handbags, movies, and pharmaceuticals, which could in turn finance expansion in to other areas. We can't just wait for all our leaders to join the Ambassadors in a public outcry.  It is up to us to become shopper consumers online."
