Digital Citizens Comments On Estonian Man Pleading Guilty To Internet Advertising Scam

Digital Citizens released the following statement regarding an Estonian man who pleaded guilty to an Internet advertising scam in federal court last week:

“Valeri Aleksejev’s massive Internet scam affecting millions of consumers through advertising fraud, malicious software and malware shows that cybercrime can be very lucrative and equally harmful to digital citizens,” said Tom Galvin, Executive Director of Digital Citizens. “In order to effectively combat these cybercrime's we must understand their origins. We hope his guilty plea is the first step to helping uncover other cases of organized crime on the Web.”
