Executive Director - Tom Galvin
Tom Galvin is based in Washington, DC and has been active in Internet security and safety issues for over a decade. As Executive Director of Digital Citizens, Tom is focused on bringing a voice to consumers, including those who have been victimized online. By putting a face on the victims of online crime, Digital Citizens will serve our fellow citizens and issue a wake-up call to policymakers and Internet companies that they must do more to protect us.
Prior to founding 463 Communications, Tom served as Vice President of Government Relations and Communications at VeriSign, where he was responsible for driving strategy with policy makers regarding homeland security, Internet security and telecommunications policy. Before working at VeriSign, Tom created a Washington, DC communications office for Cisco Systems just as the company launched a nationwide branding campaign. Tom also spent over a decade as a political journalist.
Communications Director - Adam Benson
Based in Washington, D.C., Adam Benson comes to Digital Citizens Alliance after working on consumer protection efforts both on Capitol Hill and in the nonprofit arena. He serves as Digital Citizens' contact to journalists and bloggers covering online crime, as well as communicating with the thousands of people who look to the Alliance for a voice in debate about Internet safety. In seven years with Congressman John D. Dingell of Michigan, Benson worked on issues including health care, the financial crisis of 2008, and food safety. He twice led the redesigns of the Congressman's website, which produced two Gold Mouse Awards. He was part of the research team that wrote the 2011 National Business Ethics Survey at the Ethics Resource Center. He also spent a decade in television news, producing in Seattle, Kansas City, and Detroit before going to CNN's Washington, DC bureau.
Research Director - Dan Palumbo
Dan Palumbo is based in Washington, DC and specializes in research and coalition management. His primary client is the Digital Citizens Alliance, for which he serves as Research Director and oversees a program of research reports, studies and scam alerts. He is also a driver of DCA's Membership Program
Advocacy Director - Joshua Baca
Joshua Baca leads all grassroots initiatives for the Digital Citizens Alliance. A former Capitol Hill staff member and presidential campaign operative, Baca works to connect the Digital Citizens Alliances’ issues and research to everyday people and engage their voices in developing meaningful solutions to the challenges posed by online crime and Internet safety.
Advocacy Coordinator - Brian Rose
Brian Rose helps implement all grassroots initiatives for the Digital Citizens Alliance. With a background in political and legislative campaigns, he helps manage the Digital Citizens Alliance digital infrastructure and communications to grassroots members.
